Mount Batur sunrise tour
Watch the sun rise over the caldera from one of Bali's most beautiful viewpoints. I handle the early start and the driving — you just enjoy the morning, then we explore waterfalls or hot springs on the way back.
Mount Batur is an active volcano in the highlands, about a two-hour drive from the south. Catching sunrise from up there is one of those Bali memories you don't forget — and with a private driver it's easy, because I take care of the 2am-ish pickup and the long drive while you doze in the car.
Two ways to do it
- Sunrise hike: a guided trek up the rim (about 2 hours up) to watch the sky turn gold — moderate fitness needed.
- Jeep or viewpoint: prefer not to hike? A 4x4 or a roadside viewpoint gets you the same sunrise with far less effort. Great for families.
A typical morning
- Around 2:00–3:00am — hotel pickup (timing depends on your area).
- Sunrise at the mountain, with coffee and the view.
- On the way back: a waterfall swim, natural hot springs, or the Tegallalang rice terraces.
- Late-morning return to your hotel for a well-earned rest.
The hike is arranged with a licensed mountain guide for safety; I'm your driver and can join the easy options. Bring a light jacket — it's cool at the top before dawn.
How much is the sunrise tour?
The sunrise trip is quoted for your group, so message me on WhatsApp for a price — the guided mountain hike, jeep and any entrance fees are arranged separately. You'll travel in an air-conditioned Toyota Avanza (seats up to 6) with your English-speaking driver, and I'll handle the early start so you reach the viewpoint in time.
